Under and Alone
05.30.05 (7:29 am)   [edit]

Book review:

Under and Alone, the true story of the undercover agent who infiltrated America’s most violent Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.  William Queen spent over two years getting inside the Mongol MC.  This is the story.  I bought this book yesterday afternoon and by the time I went to bed I had finish reading the story.  If was impossible to put down.  William Queen is a Vietnam Veteran, a Special Forces Veteran and spent twenty years as an ATF Special Agent.  He tells of the fear, the emotion and the hard work it took to become a fully patched member of the gang.  While often the policies of the ATF get on my nerves the dedication of people like William Queen is refreshing.   Queen writes about missing time with his son’s and how it was tearing him up.  As a father I can’t imagine how hard that was.  I found this book a damn good read.  Check it out.

Mongol? They are the most violent? Hmmm, I've never heard of them. Here in my AO, some 1% MC gang called "The Outlaws" says they own all this land. I find that hard to believe. None of us really own anything and certainly not land, if you don't pay your stinkin' taxes they'll come take it away from you.

I never got into the whole motorcycle scene, never saw what the big deal was. Growing up in Texas everyone had heard of and seen "The Bandidos." And of course who hasn't heard of the Hell's Angels.

Sounds like an interesting read though. I just bought "Tales From The Teamhouse."

I'm glad you posted an opinion on "under and alone"
I hadn't heard or seen anything on it. One of the local book stores had it on hand. I couldn't put it down either.

As for biker gangs, "Gypsy Jokers" and "Brother Speed" are two that I have seen in my area.
Take care.

I'm not much of a book reader but Under and Alone falls in line with my love of Harleys and the fact that I ride with a veteran MC. I too could not put it down and was practically sad that I had finished it. A terrific read!

I enjoted the book myself. Reading the fact that he felt the ATF wasn't as caring and understanding as the Monglos MC were when his family member died. He stated in the book that only the Mongols showed there respects and the ATF did nothing for him. He felt like a part of the family of the Mongols MC until reality hit that he was undercover for the ATF. He even stated that he felt bad putting his "Mongol (friends)brothers" away, that he had a hard time testifing against them because he was so close to them.
I have hung around clubs and ride in one. I read Jennifer deal and was starting to wonder why she had to make a comment towards the Mongolds the way she did. She stated she never really got into the whole motorcycle thing"? Then she shouldn't be saying a word about any M/C. Not unless you have been there and done that. All M/Cs get a bad rap on stupid stuff that some just can't help doing. But, where is the positive stuff we do. Queen, I know, had said alot of good stuff but, its the public that wants and buys the negative crap. Two thumbs for the book. Rumor has it a movie with the Mongols is in production on that book. No deal yet, just talks with the Mongols for now is what I heard from a Mongol himself.

Great book! Youngster has a point. Unless you have been there you can not comment.I have and chose a different path in life over the past few years.Remember one very important fact.....That club is their family and they will kill and die for it! Wouldn't you for yours? Don't condem them from your ignorance or mis-information. Plain and simple if you have not been there don't judge.Educate your self on the subject then form an opinion. But do not judge. "You say I have sinned and am bound for hell! When you are condemed for your judgement I sahll see you there!

This book was great I'm not a reader at all I finished this book in a few hours. I know a few MONGOLS some of the things said in the book were a stretch (like he was a hero every time something was going down he would save the day and change the brothers minds) come on! please! but, you do what you do say what you say and one day you'll pay.And your B.S. will surface
