Changes afoot
02.28.05 (4:00 pm)   [edit]

Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya changing paths,  Pakistan not as freewheeling as before, North Korea begging for attention, Lebanese demanding Syria out and Syria turning over Terrorist.  Do you think this would have happened under a Democrat administration? It didn’t under Clinton.  It didn’t under Carter.  I feel for the extreme left, their world is falling apart before their very eyes.  Did you notice how Egypt’s leader changed tune so quickly after Condoleezza decided not to visit his country?  Even Europe is facing the realities of the recent events.  But then they face an even larger internal threat that they have been unwilling to notice.

Does this mean success in here and here to stay?  No it doesn’t.  Today over a hundred are dead in Iraq do to terrorist that don’t even attempt to attack US forces in any real way anymore. Recruits for the Iraq security forces are not safe.  Yet!  But it’s become obvious that the terrorist are not winning and with the pressure put on Syria I doubt they have much longer to go.

Iran continues to play a dangerous game.  While they may feel protected somewhat by Russia I don’t believe this US administration is ready to give up and let Iran continue to pursue Nuclear Weapons.  No, I don’t think they are just after fuel.  As has been stated elsewhere they have more natural energy sources than they would ever need.

We are not safe yet, but we are on the offensive.  This is a key to winning the War on Terror.  We will not and could not win if we would have continued down the reactionary path.  (Dems take note).

The world is certainly changing and at a very rapid pace these days.

Hillary Says insurgency failing
02.19.05 (5:04 pm)   [edit]

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - As 55 people died in Iraq on Saturday, the holiest day on the Shiite Muslim religious calendar, Sen. Hillary Clinton said that much of Iraq was “functioning quite well” and that the rash of suicide attacks was a sign that the insurgency was failing.

So what's the world coming to.  Hummm.  Yeah I may not like or trust her but she is smart and knows when to jump sides or did she just read my post from the other day...

Transnational Terrorist Cells
02.17.05 (8:15 pm)   [edit]

CIA Director Porter Gross stated, “Those jihadists who survive will leave Iraq experienced in and focused on acts of urban terrorism. They represent a potential pool of contacts to build transnational terrorist cells, groups and networks,” “The Iraq conflict, while not a cause of extremism, has become a cause for extremists.”

This seems to have fueled a number of individuals in the media to claim some sort of victory by the jihadist in Iraq.  But there are a couple of key points not seen in most media reports of this issue.  One is the key words above “who survive”.  It’s not as easy to get out of Iraq as an insurgent as it once was.  Two, the major lesson the jihadist learn is that it’s easy to kill lots of civilians but not nearly as easy to kill lots of American Soldiers and every day those soldiers become more combat tested and experienced.  Those that make is out of Iraq will find that this rule will apply everywhere in the world.

They will also find that killing civilians in large numbers tend to turn an insurgents greatest ally, the populace, against them.

I agree mostly with what the CIA director has publicly said, but I find it irritating to see every word turned by the left to claim a win that doesn’t exit.  The insurgency is failing.  Simply killing people does not mean you've won or are winning a war.

Indoctrination
02.17.05 (5:13 pm)   [edit]

I went to Blockbuster looking for something in particular, a video that would be the first step in the indoctrination of my son to the world of real men.  Yes, I said real men.  No Wiggles videos, no Teletubbies and no Charlottes Web.   I mean how many young boys have been destroyed by Charlotte, turned into blubbering idiots?  No, I was looking for something much cooler.

When I found the video I headed home knowing my choice was right.   But would he understand the complexities of this series of stories of a young man doing the right things in a proper manner?  Would my wife understand how important it is to show a video like this to our young son?

As I started the video I was a little nervous.  The first show was the first of a two part show.  It would be nearly an hour long.  That’s a long time for a 2 ½ year old.  But he was glued to the TV.  He gave more attention to this than even Dora the Explorer.  He gave this video more attention than Spongebob.

Now for the last two days all I hear is “papa I want to watch ___”.  Papa, put ___ on”.  “We took it back to the video store.  We don’t have it anymore”.  “But papa, I want to watch it”.

But this is not a video one can just jump into non-stop and over and over again like Franklin.  No, this is serious stuff.

What video?  What video is a coming of age story for all young boys?

Teaser for the regulars
02.14.05 (10:22 pm)   [edit]

Living is a strange thing.  You have good times and you have bad times.  Most often you don’t know which time you’re in till it’s over.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks here.  I’m still tired and haven’t shaken the feeling I’m working harder and gaining less.  The good and bad side to all the work is I haven’t had much time to ponder the latest news.  It’s amazing how not being informed can be so nice.

I would like to say I’m working on some good blog post coming soon but that would be a lie.  I really have nothing to say just yet and this post is more of a teaser to try and keep the few readers I have clinging on.  But I will give you all a few quick thoughts on some subjects I have seen or heard about lately.

Ward Churchill – dumb ass who we are paying to indoctrinate our youth.

Eason Jordon – No surprise there.

Korea – Playing games they will ultimately lose.  In the mean time their population continues to suffer.

Iran – They are getting nervous

Social Security – should be reformed but probably won’t be

I’m currently reading “Wake of the Perdido Star by Gene Hackman and Daniel Lenihan.  So far I love it.  Great characters and hell it’s got pirates, mean Count’s and killing.  How can you go wrong there?   I’m also reading Bill Gertz’s “Breakdown”.  It’s interesting but not light reading.

Well that’s it for now.  But maybe I’ll be back with something soon….or maybe not.

Sorry folks but there will no post for a little while.  Too busy right now and wouldn't be able to put any real thought into a post to make it worthwhile.

Hopefully in a week or so things will calm down.

Note on comments: I've removed a few comments lately.  I'm not upset but I would like to return the focus on the topics a little more.  While none of the comments were offensive they might be more appropriate for email, tmail or a motel room.
