Good News
11.25.03 (3:11 pm)   [edit]
Ok Delta6 over at Paratrooper.net posted some of the good news coming out of Iraq.

The info can be found at centcom.mil

The fact is there is good things going on over there even if the main stream press doesn't report it.

Military Families
11.24.03 (12:20 pm)   [edit]
On Monday President Bush is scheduled to be at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs. In the local paper today I noticed an article talking about the views of family members about the war and the Presidents handling of the war. Some comments were good while others were less than I would expect from my family here at home. What struck me not just within this article but many I've read lately is the lack of reasoning by even the best intentioned families. The idea often repeated is that this policy or that should be better for the troops. But shouldn't the policy be, what is better to win this war?

Look, we have an all volunteer force. Nobody is forced to sign. There are times when you must put aside your worries and complaints and complete the mission. I feel for these families. I was just separated from mine for six months in Afghanistan and while on active duty I spent an average of 7 to 10 months deployed every year. Yes it's hard, but that is the life a soldier must except if he or she wishes to continue in that profession.

There is nothing wrong with completing you tour and walking away to do something else but families must understand that every time they question what their spouse or child is doing it only makes it harder on them to concentrate on their job.

Suggestions that the President is out of touch with the feelings of families is irrelevant. The President needs to focus on getting the job done.

Two more Americans are killed in Mosul. The reports are conflicting on how they were killed. Reports that their throats were slit have me concerned. I can only hope this report is wrong or we have some units that don't understand security. The only way I could see this happening is if they were shot first.

I watched a little of Former General Wesley Clark this morning on Face the Nation (transcripts not posted yet). I wouldn't vote for this guy if it was just between him and Howard Dean. Bob Schieffer, who I generally don't feel follows up on hard questions enough jumped on Wesley for his complete reversal on Donald Rumsfeld. Good job Bob. This guy is an egotistical hack and should be unemployed and not running for anything. Well just my opinion anyway.
